Event Description:

This year's Mediterranean Festival is a two-day event, featuring a Friday night event from 6 - 10 pm and an all day event on Saturday from 12 pm - 8 pm.

For nearly 90 years, St. Mary Orthodox Christian Church has celebrated its Mediterranean heritage through public dinners and bake sales. Sharing this heritage with our local community has been an important and continuous part of our parish life and outreach since our founding, and each May we look forward to continuing that tradition with our annual Mediterranean Festival.

During our two-day event we are serving our favorite traditional family dishes from Lebanon, Syria, Greece, and Egypt. Ethnic wine and beer is available, as well as local craft beer from Walnut River Brewery and a variety of non-alcoholic beverages.

OUR CHARITY - This year a portion of our proceeds will be donated to the Child Advocacy Center of Sedgwick County to support their Hope & Healing project for abused children and teens.

OUR FOOD - All of our food is handmade from scratch and served a la carte style. Lebanese chicken kababs, kafta, hummus, rice & green beans, baklawa sundaes, assorted desserts, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages will be available BOTH days. Friday ONLY we will also be serving Egyptian potato salad and talame bread with za’atar dipping sauce. Saturday ONLY we will also be serving kibbee, cabbage rolls, and Greek salad. Our Mediterranean Marketplace includes pastries, breads, and desserts and other ethnic and traditional food items available for purchase on Saturday. We’ve added green beans and rice to our Friday night menu!  (It will also be available Saturday). This year, in addition to our wine and beer selection, we've added three liquors, Lebanese arak, Greek ouzo, and Serbian slivovitz.  These will be available for purchase singly or as a flight.

NEW THIS YEAR - We’ve moved OUTSIDE! Last year we moved the Festival outside to our back parking lot.  This year we are growing yet again and moving out front to our newly expanded and upgraded parking lot at the corner of Maple & Martinson.  All of our food booths, music, dancing, and other entertainment activities will take place here. The Mediterranean Marketplace, carry out orders, raffle prize, bookstore, charity booth, church tours, and additional seating will still be available INSIDE.

Live Local Music - In addition to our ethnic music provided by DJ Saad, you can also catch local jazz band Crisis Casanova on Saturday evening.

Expanded Activities - We will be expanding our activities and entertainment options, including activities for both kids and adults!

RETURNING AGAIN - DJ Saad will be here once again on both Friday & Saturday playing ethnic music. Our dancers from Safira's, photo booth, balloon twisting, bookstore, church tours, Liturgical items display, Byzantine Art & Music presentations & Vespers evening service will all be taking place on Saturday.
