Event Description:

The Plains Church Spring Rodeo is coming up!

It's held at the Rodeo Grounds just 1 mile south of town along the Chikaskia River. This 2-night event begins each night at 8:00 pm. The gates open at 5:00 pm for those who want an up-close parking spot around the arena.

The rodeo includes dirt-flying Bronc riding, followed by calf roping, steer wrestling and team roping. Halfway through the evening, cowgirls race against the clock to circle the barrels as fast as possible. And, mutton busting is always enjoyed by all. The final event is the bull riding. Riders hold on for dear life as the bulls kick, jump, spin and buck with no sympathy. Some cowboys endure the ride...and some don't!

Saturday night, the winner in each category for the weekend will receive a unique rodeo belt buckle.

For die-hard rodeo fans, you can stay and watch slack that usually lasts well past midnight, weather permitting.

The concession stand will stay open until the last cowboy/cowgirl rides and all proceeds support our local community Youth Group.

So, come on out May 17th & 18th for a couple of fun nights of country entertainment. Admission is only $5 per person, and children 4 & under get in FREE. See you there!!
