Event Description:

Blues, Brews, and Barbecue is back, bigger, better and barbecue-i-er for 2018.
Thanks to last year's huge success, this year's festival on Oct. 6 has expanded to feature three acts, more breweries, and food trucks.
The Reverend Peyton's Big Damn Band will headline, bringing with it the driving, thumping, sound and wild show that's had them at the top of our list since seeing them live.
Dustin Arbuckle, who helped headline last year, will bring back his same musical talent with his new project Dustin Arbuckle & The Damnations.
Cheryl Rutz & Lewis Street Soul will open the event with a mix of blues and rock with attitude.
Doors open at 3pm, with the first band starting at 4pm. Athletic Park will jam throughout the night.
The beer this year promises to have as much flavor as the acts on the stage.
Our friends at Salt City Brewing Company and Walnut River Brewing Company, LLC will represent as they make some of the best brews in all of Kansas. A special beer for the event will be brewed and announced at a later date.
Look for announcements coming in the future when we get the list of food truck vendors finalized as well.
Tickets will be up for sale at a discounted rate of $15, at two special events we're hosting, the 14th Annual Downtown Newton Car Show Beer Gardenand a concert kick-off party, June 15 at our office, 706 N. Main St.
Otherwise, tickets will be on sale for $17 online, at the Newton Now office, and a few select other places. We'd encourage you to buy them early. If tickets are available the day of the concert, they'll be sold for $25 at the door.
This is our way to say thank you to Newton and bring a top-notch concert to the city we call home.
