Move over, Game of Thrones—there’s a new must-watch coming to HBO.

David Bowie: The Last Five Years debuted earlier this year on BBC, and HBO recently acquired the rights to air the documentary stateside. The premiere date has not yet been announced, but we’re already counting down the days.

The documentary follows the creation of the late singer-songwriter’s last albums, The Next Day and Blackstar, as well as his musical, Lazarus. Also featured will be plenty of interviews with past Bowie collaborators.

Considering the fact that Bowie’s Blackstar swept the 59th Annual Grammy Awards, winning every category that gave him a nom, it’ll be pretty cool to learn more about how this award-winning album came to fruition.

In a statement from HBO, the film’s director and producer, Francis Whatley, shared, “Looking at Bowie’s extraordinary creativity during the last five years of his life has allowed me to reexamine his life’s work and move beyond the simplistic view that his career was simply predicated on change.”

Here’s hoping for a premiere date in the near future!
