'I am now a Disney Stockholder thanks to you,' Gianna Floyd shared

June 15, 2020

Gianna Floyd, George Floyd’s six-year-old daughter is now a Disney shareholder thanks to a gift from Barbra Streisand.

Floyd shared the news on her Instagram account thanking Streisand for the gift. The post featured a slideshow of photos displaying the gift package the singer sent her including a letter, Disney certificate, along with two of her studio albums, My Name Is Barbra and Color Me Barbra.

"Thank You @barbrastreisand for my package, I am now a Disney Stockholder thanks to you," Gianna wrote in the post.

While it’s unclear how many shares of the company Floyd received, a recent CNBC report indicates that a $1,000 investment in Disney 10 years ago would be worth more than $4,600 as of February 2020 for a total return of around 370%.

A GoFundMe for Gianna Floyd has already raised over $2.15 million. Due to the success of the fundraiser, the family opted to create the George Floyd and Gianna Floyd Foundation. “Because of the outpouring of love and support felt around the world, we are proud to announce a foundation that we have created where supporters can send what they feel from the heart," the family wrote.

Near the end of the interview, Gianna proudly said, “I know what I want to be when I grow up. A doctor, so I can help people.”
